You Can’t Be A Fool For Faith

...He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief but was strong in faith, giving glory to God (Romans 4:19-20).

Have you ever wondered how people around Abraham might have scorned and jeered at him when he changed his name from Abram “assumed father” to Abraham “Father of many”? Try to picture it—a ninety-nine-year old man, with a wife who was way past the age of menopause, going about telling everyone in town they’re expecting to have a child. To the spiritually unlearned, they must have appeared silly and senile.
But Abraham disregarded all contrary situations and was strong in faith! He had seen in his spirit the son that was promised, and that picture was more real than his old frail body and that of his wife. He maintained his confession and sure enough, Isaac was born. Now, those who might have called him “foolish old Papa Abraham” must have been speechless when Isaac showed up.
Understand that you can never be a fool for faith! Whenever you take steps of faith in God and His eternal Word your action will certainly pay off. The challenge some folks have sometimes is that they mistake “believing” for “faith.” Faith is the title-deed of unseen realities (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is the proof that what you hoped to have is yours now.
Abraham was not calling himself, “Father of many” to get God to give him a son, or to convince himself of what God said! He called himself that name because he had confidence in his spirit that he already had a son, though it hadn’t materialized physically. That’s faith. When acting in faith, you no longer try to convince yourself or convince God; rather, you know in your spirit that you have it made— you’ve got what the Word says is yours.
It doesn’t matter today who is making jest of you or mocking you for your faith; you have the evidence-God’s Word, that what He says belongs to you belongs to you, therefore refuse to let go. It’ll only be a matter of time before it shows up physically, and it’ll be your turn to laugh in celebration, for you can never be a fool for faith.

Draw Comfort From The Scriptures!

For whatsoever things were written afore time were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope (Romans 15:4).

It doesn’t matter what you face in life, there’s one place you can always draw comfort and strength— the Word of God. The Word of God is your oasis of hope, peace and fulfillment. It’s your haven through the changing seasons of life. It should be your number one recourse always when you face challenges.
If ever you feel the pressures of life coming against you, the question to ask yourself is “what does the Word say about this situation?” Then, search the Scriptures to find out what’s the position of God’s Word concerning the case you’re dealing with. Once you discover the Word that deals with that situation, meditate on it and your faith will be energized. Before long, you’ll walk victoriously out of that situation. That’s how to draw comfort from the Scriptures.
If you’re experiencing challenges at work or in any area of your life for example, you ought to read about David and how as a stripling he slew the giant Goliath. If you’re a lady and perhaps you’ve been having difficulties conceiving, you should read about women like Sarah, Hannah and Elizabeth, and make your faith’s confessions about how you have received your own child like they did.
Whatever it is you require an answer for, find out how God did it for someone in the Bible. It will greatly encourage your faith and position you rightly for your own miracle.

It’s Not Too Late

And I will restore to you the years that the locust bath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar and the palmerworm...  (Joel2:25).

When the Lord Jesus heard that His friend Lazarus was sick, He said to His disciples, “This sickness is not unto death...” (John 11:4). The Master then remained where he was for another two days. By the time He got to Bethany where Lazarus lived, the Bible says ‘..he found that he had lain in the grave four days already” (John 11:17).
Mary and Martha, Lazarus’ sisters were grief-stricken, and Martha spoke out: “...Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died” (John 11:21). They were so pained that Jesus didn’t respond in time to save their brother. To them, the Master was “too late.” After a little dialogue, Jesus said, “... I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25).
What a powerful statement! He didn’t say, “I have resurrection power”; He said, “I am the resurrection, and the life!” That means as long as He’s on the scene, even that which was dead will come back to life. That’s why I’m telling you today, “It’s not too late!” Nothing is impossible with Him. He’s the God that “... quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were” (Romans 4:1 7). He reverses even the most hopeless cases and makes the dead alive again.
This is one reason you can never be disadvantaged. It doesn’t matter the negative report you got from the doctors; believe in the God who raises the dead! Maybe they told you the job you prayed about has been given to someone else, hence no vacancy for you; refuse to be moved! Believe in the God who specializes in reversing impossible situations. It’s never too late with Him, and nothing is too difficult for Him!
Even when it seems like time isn’t on your side, relax! With one step, He’ll restore the time you lost and transport you to the place of your dreams. He’s never, ever late!

God’s Word Is The Final Arbiter

Every Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for convincing, for correction of error and for instruction in right doing; so that the man of God may himself be complete and may be perfectly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17 WMT).

In the highest court of law in any nation, once the judge delivers a verdict, it becomes final and binding, being the final arbiter between the parties. Even if the party who lost the case is aggrieved, he has no option but to obey the judgment. That’s the idea I want you to have in your mind concerning the Word of God—it’s the final arbiter concerning any situation of life. It’s the last word on any subject, be it your business, marriage, relationships, health etc.
Once you discover what the Word says concerning anything, you ought to immediately align yourself with it irrespective of the situation or what your natural senses tell you. Train yourself to accept the Word and do what it says always! That’s where your promotion lies. That’s your guarantee for true and lasting success.
There’re folks who when it seems the Word of God is opposed to their desires or human assumptions would say “Please let’s put the Bible aside!” They take sides against the Word when it rocks their boat. Never be that way. Never act contrary to the Word of God. Even if you were already a long way down a particular road, and then through the light of God’s Word discovered it was the wrong road, have the wisdom and humility to turn around and do what the Word says
The Psalmist said “...thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name” (Psalm 1 38:2). The Lord has exalted His Word above all the revelations of His own Name— that’s to show you how serious He takes His Word. If the Creator of the universe would reverence His own Word this way, how much more should we reverence and accept it as the final arbiter and only truth to live by!
The Word of God is “truth” (John 17:17); that means “reality!” meaning that nothing in the world could be more real than the Word! Therefore make it the final arbiter in every area of your life.

Go For The Word!

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? And the scorners delight in their
scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Turn you at my reproof behold,
I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you (Proverbs 1:22-23).

Immediately you’re born again, one of the things that happen in your spirit is the deep-seated hunger for the Word of God. You find yourself passionately craving for God’s Word the same way new born babies desire milk. There’s the insatiable desire to know more about this Savior that saved you and gave you eternal life. You’ll find yourself always taking advantage of every opportunity to hear the Word of God, not wanting to miss out on anything.
It’s important that as you grow in Christ you don’t let that initial hunger and passion for God’s Word and the things of the spirit wane in your life. Never find yourself in a situation where the Word of God becomes common to you. In the opening scripture, God rebuked the scorners—those who treat the Word lightly, referring to them as fools. The scriptural characteristic that differentiates a wise man from a foolish man is that when a wise man hears God’s Word, he increases learning (Proverbs 1:5), but a foolish man despises wisdom and instruction (Proverbs 1:7).
As a Christian, you must have an insatiable hunger for the Word of God, for that’s the food for your spirit. No wonder Job said “I have esteemed God’s Word more than my necessary food” (Job 23:12). This should be your attitude to the Word. The Bible says “let the words of Christ dwell in you richly” (Colossians 3:16)

Wives, Submit To Your Husbands!

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands,
as it is fit in the Lord (Colossians 3:18).

The responsibility of a wife in marriage is to submit to her own husband. She is to respect and give honour to her own husband. Out there in the world, this may sound outlandish, but if you’re born again, this is God’s standard for marriage. A woman submitting to her husband doesn’t mean becoming a slave to him; it means honouring Him in the Lord and in the Word of God.
Submitting to the husband’s authority doesn’t make a woman any less than God’s best! Following this simple truth will spare many folks heartache in their marriage relationships. It’ll get rid of the squabbles and anger. Some women love to antagonize their husbands and that’s wrong; when he says, “Let’s go right,” they turn left straightaway in their minds. This ought not to be.
For a woman, learning to respect, honour and encourage her husband will certainly create a positive influence that’ll make the man treasure and value her in a way she never thought possible. Her opinions and counsel will matter greatly to him. A wife’s true beauty lies in her spirit, but that inner beauty begins to glow outwardly as she learns the secret of obedience! The moment a woman begins to act in rebellion to her husband’s headship, her attractiveness to him evaporates.
The Bible says, “Married women, in the same way, be submissive to your husbands... Your adornment ought not to be a merely outward thing—one of plaiting the hair, putting on jewelry, or wearing beautiful dresses. Instead of that, it should be a new nature within—the imperishable ornament of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which is indeed precious in the sight of God” (1 Peter 3:1-4 WNT).
I urge you today to follow God’s Word in your marriage—it will make your marriage peaceful and beautiful.

True Beauty Is Of The Heart

Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair and of wearing of gold,
or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart,
in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit,
which is in the sight of God of great price (1 Peter 3:3-4).

Beauty has been mistaken for outward appearance and this is highly deceptive. Some folks have all the features of a model yet their hearts are extremely darkened with evil. By virtue of this, their beauty becomes irritating. Instead of creating a sense of admiration, people are nauseated by their appearance. People avoid them instead of longing to get to know them.
The Bible says “Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised” (Proverbs 31:30), and this is so true! Sin dominates anyone who is not born-again: this is why they can’t reflect the true beauty of God. The beauty of the heart is seen in the recreated human spirit of a born-again Christian, one who is alive to God and dead to sin.
Every person can be beautiful. However, true beauty is reflected from the heart. The Lord Jesus said “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure, bringeth forth evil things” (Matthew 12:35). It’s what you have in your heart that'll be reflected and revealed in your words, actions and character. There’s no beauty that can overshadow that of a righteous heart, for it’s only in such hearts that God can dwell.

How To Wait On The Lord

...But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:29-31).

What a wonderful promise for those who wait on the Lord! But how do you wait on the Lord? Is it by staying away from people sitting quietly in a solitary place, even though that is required and important? Could it be by suffering with the hope that things would change in the sweet by-and-by? I want you to know that the subject of waiting on the Lord is much more than what many have assumed over the years. Let me use a simple illustration to explain this.
If you’ve ever been to a restaurant, you’d notice some young men or women called 4’waiters.” They are always ready to attend to you and make sure you’re as comfortable as possible. You didn’t have to get up from your seat to get whatever you wanted; they were there at your service—ministering to your every need. All you needed to do was call on them and whatever you wanted was done. Now, what were these waiters doing? They were waiting on you! This is what waiting on the Lord is about too.
To wait on the Lord is to be actively involved in service in God’s Kingdom. It means to be busy about the Lord’s business of evangelizing the world. When you’re waiting on the Lord you’re committed to working for Him and with Him—you’re actively participating in the things He cares about. Like Jesus, your meat becomes the desire and urgency to do the will of God and finish His work (John 4:34).
Some people have often wondered how I’m able to handle my many responsibilities as pastor and president of a fast-growing ministry with thousands of churches around the world. Well, I’m only waiting on the Lord. The strength to do these things comes from doing everything He’s told me to do. According to God’s Word, the more actively involved you are in doing the Lord’s work, the more your strength is renewed.
Jesus said, “...My Father worketh hitherto, and I work” (John 5:1 7). So, waiting on the Lord really means working for and together with the Lord including ministering the Word, praying and fasting; that’s where the renewal of strength Isaiah talked about in the opening scripture comes from.

All You Have Is All You Need!

Let your conversation be without covetousness;
and be content with such things as ye have... (Hebrews 13:5).

In the scripture above, the Lord didn’t say “Be satisfied with whatever you have, be it little or much,” as some folks believe. He wasn’t preaching about materialism and the need for contentment in life. Though that’s a good lesson to learn from our opening scripture, but there’s something bigger in there! When He says “be content with such things as ye have,” He’s letting you know that all you have is all you need! That means with what you have in your hands (no matter how small) God can produce anything you want!
When Jesus was told the wine had finished at the wedding in Cana, He didn’t bat an eyelid. He simply looked around, saw the water pots and instructed the servants to “Fill the water pots with water” and the water became wine (John 2:7). It would interest you to know that it wasn’t potable water that Jesus turned to wine—it was dish-water! That’s what was available, and from it He produced the best wine.
No matter what Jesus faced, the solution was present with Him, for the solution was in Him. That’s why I’m letting you know today that all you have is all you need! David used just one stone to eliminate Goliath (1 Samuel 17:40); that was all he knew to carry as a weapon, being a shepherd boy. Moses conquered Pharaoh and the entire nation of
Egypt, and led six million Jews out of bondage with a shepherd’s rod (Exodus 4:2). It was an ordinary rod until he presented it before the Lord; then it became the rod of God (Exodus 4:20).
Don’t look for the answers you seek anywhere else, for they’re right inside you. My question to you today is the same question the Lord asked Moses in Exodus 4:2:
What do you have in your hand? Recognize that what you have is all you need, and as you release it to the Lord and speak the word of faith over it, the miracle you require will surely show up!

No More Tears!

And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying (Isaiah 65:19).

The Lord Jesus came to put an end to your tears of sorrow and regret. He suffered excruciating pain and died a shameful death on the cross as full penalty for your sins and rose again to give you a victorious life. The Bible says He knows what you’re going through (Hebrews 4:15). He’s given you His Word and His Spirit to help you come through victoriously. So no matter the situation you’re facing today, dry your tears, for your victory is sure.
Isaiah 53:1-12 tells us how Jesus bore our shame, took our pains upon Himself and gave us His glorious life. When He said, “It is finished” (John 19:30), just before He gave up the ghost on the cross of Calvary, He was saying in essence “No more tears; your pains are over.” He has turned your supposed mourning into dancing, glory to God!
No wonder the Bible says “Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more(Isaiah 54:4). God doesn’t want you to talk about the shame you once experienced. Don’t remind yourself about it because God has started glorious things in your life today.
Wake up to the reality of God’s Word. The storm is over! So wipe your tears and take up the Sword of the Spirit—the Word of God—to put the enemy to flight, and effect the changes you desire in your life.

Believe in Miracles!

Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did (John 2:23).

Catherine Khulman once said “I believe in miracles, or I believe in God.” How true! If you believe in
God, then you definitely ought to believe in miracles, for God is supernatural and His intervention in this earthly realm will surely produce a miracle on this plain. That’s why I get amazed at folks who say miracles aren’t real, or miracles aren’t for today. That’s a lie from the pit of hell! Miracles are real and are still happening today as in Bible days.
The Bible says “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8 GNB). Since that’s true, then it means He’s able to do the same things He did while He was physically present on earth. If He healed the sick, cleansed the lepers, raised the dead, cast out devils, turned water into wine, walked on water, fed a multitude with a little boy’s lunch, then we should expect the same miracles today; and more—since He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Jesus has gone to heaven and He gave us the power of attorney to use His Name (Matthew 28:19). Thus we can perform miracles in His Name. Christianity is more than a religion; it’s supernatural! Refuse to accept that miracles aren’t real, for the Lord Jesus hasn’t changed. When you call His Name in faith over any situation, you can expect to see the power of that Name demonstrated; you can expect to receive a miracle!

Choose Wisely

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat (Genesis 3:6).

God created man in His image and in His likeness, yet, man is vulnerable to sin; why? There’s one major characteristic in Adam and Eve and in all mankind that causes this to be—CHOICE.
Man is a creature of choice; he’s a free moral agent. You have the choice to live right or live wrong. God never imposes Himself on anyone. He’s a just God. He gives you the choice to decide what you want. Any father who imposes himself on his children and insists they love him will never know true love from those children. So every human being has the ability to choose, and God Himself placed this ability in us.
Eve fell for the serpent’s temptation because she chose to. God had instructed Adam not to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and he had in turn passed that instruction to Eve. But God left the tree there, giving them the right to exercise their choice. So when the devil came tempting Eve, it was her choice to either believe his lies and open the door for sin or to believe the truth of God’s Word. But she allowed herself to be deceived by the devil and she ate the fruit.
Adam, on the other hand, was not deceived at all (1 Timothy 2:14). When Eve gave the fruit to him, he could have put his foot down and refused to take it, but Adam willfully chose to disobey God and fall for the temptation. Sadly, this still happens in the lives of folks today. They willingly choose to disobey God’s Word. They choose to believe a lie and are led astray. This is why you must be very careful in your life and choose wisely to serve the living God.

Find Out What The Lord Wants

Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel ... brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect... (Genesis 4:3-5).

Have you ever wondered why God rejected Cain’s offering and accepted Abel’s? It wasn’t that He preferred beef to vegetables. The reason is much deeper than the actual gifts the two brothers brought before the Lord. The key to understanding the Lord’s action is to know the kind of offering the Lord required of them. As you study the Old Testament, you’ll observe that more offerings developed as the Spirit of God showed His people the way. So they could take anything out of a joyful spirit and present to the Lord and He would accept it. But on this occasion, the sacrifice the Lord asked of them was a “sin offering.”
The sin offering always required the shedding of blood—animal blood. The Apostle Paul also tells us in the New Testament that without the shedding of blood there’s no remission of sins (Hebrews 9:22). So you couldn’t bring crops from your farm as a sin offering, even if they were the best crops around. But that was what Cain did! He brought his crops for a sin sacrifice and God rejected it. But God being merciful still showed him the right thing to do. He said, “If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth (that is sin offering) at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him” (Genesis 4:7).
God was saying in other words, “Hey Cain, go get that lamb lying close by and use it for your sin offering” But Cain wouldn’t. He was offended because his sacrifice was rejected and his brother’s accepted, and he went out from God’s presence with an evil heart.
It’s important that you serve God with knowledge; get to know what He wants so your service in the Kingdom will be an offering of sweet savour before the Lord. What is it you’re bringing before the Lord today? Is it your body, your money, your prayers or your service in His house? Don’t offer Him what He wouldn’t accept. Find out what He wants you to do and do it, so your services and offerings will be acceptable to Him.

You Can Get A Fresh Revelation Every Day

And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of GodA1mghiy, but by my name Jehovah was I not known to them (Exodus 6:3).

The revelation you have of God is the light in which you’ll walk with Him. You can’t walk with Him above the revelation that you have of Him. This, in fact, is the distinguishing factor amongst Christians.
When God introduced Himself to Moses as Jehovah (Exodus 6:2-3), He was giving him a fresh revelation of His personality in a way that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob never knew. If he was to fulfill his calling as Israel’s deliverer, he needed this new revelation. When He asked for God’s name so as to authenticate his mission before the Hebrew slaves, here was God’s response “Eheyeh asher Eheyeh” (Hebrew), which literally means ...I AM THAT I AM...” (Exodus 3:14). That was the revelation he needed to stand before Pharaoh and demand Israel’s release.
God revealed Himself to His people in the Old Testament in His names. But in the New Testament God has revealed Himself through His Son Jesus, the Word. Your revelation of God will determine everything in your life. It’ll influence your Christian walk and your walk with other men and women—your relationship with those around you.

Blessed Beyond Measure

...the Lord thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the Lord thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the Lord thy God loved thee (Deuteronomy 23:5).

When God blesses a man, that blessing is irrevocable: “For the gifts and calling of Cod are without repentance” (Romans 11:29). Thus it’s impossible for that man to be cursed anymore. So as a Christian, you have no business trying to get rid of any curse since you’re the blessed of the Lord; you were born into God’s blessing (Ephesians 1:3).
You’re a new creation; a new species that never existed before (2 Corinthians 5:1 7). You have no past but a glorious future. You’re the reflection of God’s beauty. The situation in your life that seems to suggest the influence of a curse is actually a mirage—it’s nonexistent, for you’re blessed beyond measure. Ignorance of God’s Word and the wrong mentality are the reasons some Christians suffer unnecessary predicaments and challenges that make them feel they’re under a curse. For such folks, all they need do is focus their attention on the Word of God, and it’ll wash their minds of the wrong information and give them a new mentality (Romans 12:2).
Certain people pride themselves in being able to detect and remove curses from Christians. Such ‘spiritual detectives’ are deceived, and they are ignorant of the word. The Bible categorically tells us that the Christian is blessed beyond measure and can’t be cursed (Numbers 23:23).
You were translated from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of light (Colossians 1:13), and called to inherit a blessing (1 Peter 3:9). God chose and called you into the life of blessing (John 15:16), therefore think blessings all the time (Philippians 4:8), for you’re blessed beyond measure! See yourself that way; keep talking about the blessings of God and the great things He has done in your life.

Serve God With A Loyal Heart!

Out the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart (1 Samuel 16:7).

David was a teenage shepherd boy whose physical appearance showed no special features. There was nothing physically striking about him that pointed him as God’s choice of a king-elect. But God sees far beyond what man can comprehend (1 Samuel 16:7). Though his actions weren’t always perfect, David’s heart was perfect toward God (Acts 13:22). He served God with a loyal heart.
To be loyal means to be faithful or steadfast in allegiance. It means to be devoted to God’s cause. This was the virtue Saul lacked that made God reject him as king over Israel. Another king, Amaziah, did all the right things but still didn’t get God’s approval because of his wrong attitude. “And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart” (2 Chronicles 25:2). So in your relationship with the Lord, the state of your heart counts! Your attitude to God and to service in His Kingdom must reflect wholehearted devotion and unfeigned loyalty.
It’s time to examine yourself and ensure your words match your actions, and that your actions match the thoughts of your heart in your service to the Lord. Who are you, and how do you do your work for the Lord? These are very important questions you must answer for yourself. Only the works we did with a sincere and loyal heart will be accepted when we stand before the Judgment seat of Christ; the rest will be burnt because they have no significance before God (1 Corinthians 3:13).
There are Christians who haven’t pledged their allegiance to Christ and have lived only for themselves. This is the root of the strife and division witnessed in some churches. It’s sad to see God’s people do what’s right without loyalty. But praise God, the Church is rising in glory and God is purging her of all these. So, honestly examine yourself in the light of God’s Word today, and pray God to help you make changes where necessary.

The Key To A Successful Life

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8).

This scripture is the key to a successful life. It says ‘this book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, not from your heart.’ This means you must continually talk the Word. That’s what it means to meditate on the Word; it connotes muttering or speaking the Word to yourself. Whether you’re talking the Word quietly under your breath, or you’re roaring it out loud—whichever the case, meditating on the Word is God’s recipe for success. You may have the word in your heart, but if you don’t “talk it”, things won’t change.
In the first chapter of Genesis, the Bible reveals that the world was a chaotic mass—was without form and was void until God spoke: “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep...And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness (Genesis 1:2-4). God had to speak before creation came to be.
Talking the Word is of utmost importance to the believer. Romans 10:10 says “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Put differently, a man is not saved by his believing only but by his confession. The reason is that the righteousness which is of faith doesn’t keep quiet; it speaks (Romans 10:6). God reveals Himself to you through the Word that you take into your heart. However, that revelation alone wouldn’t change the circumstances of your life. But by the time the Word gets to your mouth and you speak it forth, it becomes Rhema (Greek)—the active or creative Word. This creative Word is powerful and will always produce results.
To live the life of success God has called you into, you must be a Word-talker. There aren’t enough limitations in the world to stop you when you have the Word of God in your mouth. God’s Word in your mouth is the hope for your future. If you get a hold of this truth, it’ll catapult you to the mountaintop, where you’ll be gazing together with Jesus at a world full of possibilities.

It Is Possible!

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:23).

Whatever it is you desire from the Lord today, I want you to know that it is possible. When the dear old man whose son was tormented of a devil came to the Master for help, Jesus didn’t say, “Depending on how serious the case is, all things are possible!” Neither did He say, “All things are possible to the one who can pay for it.” Rather He said all things are possible to him that believeth! That’s all; the only ingredient required is your faith. As long as you can believe that you have it, it’s yours.
Do you believe you can walk again? Do you believe that your business can be revived? Do you believe that your small shop can become a shopping mall? Do you believe that seemingly wayward child that ran away from home can come back again? All it takes is for you to believe, for to him that believes, all things are possible. God is looking for someone who can believe’ Believe today for that miracle you desire, and give voice to your believing by declaring faith-filled words.
Remember, believing is a choice, and you prove that you’ve truly believed by your confessions of faith. Every time God locates a man or woman who exercises faith, impossibilities become possibilities.
When Abraham believed, it became possible for an old man like him, with a wife who had long gone into menopause to have a child. When Isaac believed, it became possible for him to receive a bumper harvest from a barren, famine-stricken land. When Moses believed, it became possible for six million Jews to walk through the Red Sea on dry ground!
Whatever miracle you’re in need of today, you can receive it if you would believe. Even if the miracle is something God has never done for anyone, He’ll do it for you, if you would only believe.
“It is possible!” That’s the Word of the Lord to you today. You can walk again; you can have your own baby; you can buy up that property and pay off your mortgage! There’s more than enough power available to you through God’s Word and the Spirit. All you need is to trust the Lord and accept that His Word is true and never fails. You can exceed your dream for success and greatness— if you’d only believe!

Sometimes He Saves The Best For Last!

The best wine is always served first.
Then after the guests have had plenty, the other wine is served.
But you have kept the best until last! (John 2:10 CEV).

The Lord Jesus is exactly like the Father. He said in John 10:30 “I and my Father are one.” He is the full icon of the Father; the express image of His person (Hebrews 1:3); thus the things He did are indicative of the Father’s character. So, for Him to have chosen to bring out the best wine at the end, rather than at the beginning or middle of the ceremony as read in the opening scripture is very instructive, It lets us know that sometimes, the Lord could reserve the best for last.
Bringing this home, the Lord could choose to reserve the blessing and impartation of the Spirit you’re meant to receive during a church service or meeting till the end of that meeting. Usually, in the House of God, people come to receive the Word but oftentimes, you see two groups of folks. The one are those who hardly wait for the service to end before they’re gone. As soon as they think the preacher is done, they’re out, always in a hurry.
The second group are those who come early and stay right through till the end of the service. Sometimes, the Word that someone in the first group needs to change his situation just might come right at the end of the service, or during the benediction, but he’s already gone, hence he misses his hour of visitation.
One of the things you need to learn when you go to church is to wait until the service doses. It pays to be patient! Know that the Lord may not always do things in the way we expect Him to. It’s better to discipline yourself to stay in the Lord’s presence and never be in a hurry to leave, for that’s just when your much anticipated Word of blessing and miracle may come to you. He is God, and it’s up to Him how He wants to accomplish His work. Your part is to be patient and be in the right place at the right time. That way, you’ll never miss out on God’s best for you, for He sometimes saves the best for last.

Two Kinds Of Destinies

And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry,
which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfill it (Colossians 4:17)

There are two destinies for every human person that’s born into this world: the natural destiny and the divine destiny. The natural destiny is guided and controlled by the normal circumstances of life—place of birth, economic conditions and even topography. Sadly, this is the destiny that most people are acquainted with and it’s a dangerous place to be.
There’re people who for example, have lost their lives simply because they were born in war-torn countries. They didn’t do anything wrong—they just happened to have been victims of natural destiny. There’re those who are poor today, not because of anything they did, but because their parents were poor or they were born into a poor environment and so they eat, sleep, work, have kids, grow old and die poor just like their poor forebears. They could have lived a better life, if only they knew and embraced God’s destiny for their lives.
Divine destiny is the course of events for a man’s life, organized and structured by God Himself in a way that brings Him glory. It’s the God-orchestrated path for your life that takes you from victory to victory and success to success in spite of persecutions and sometimes, hardships! If a man were living out his natural destiny, the moment divine destiny begins to work in him, the course of his life is dramatically altered forever.
However, one can only begin to fulfill his divine destiny after he’s born again. Only then can he make contact with the Spirit of God, who will then set him on his way in life. If you’re not born again, it’s time to step out of natural destiny into divine destiny. If you’re already born again, it’s time to ask the Holy Spirit to take charge of your life, and lead you in the path of God’s destiny for you.

“...That Same Spirit!”

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?... (Acts 19:2).

So me Christians have received the Holy Spirit but are not acquainted with His power and ministry in their lives. They don’t know the awesomeness of this wonderful third Person of the God-head, hence they live ordinary lives.
May I remind you that this Holy Spirit you have received is the same Spirit that worked with David when as a young boy he came face-to-face with a lion, and a bear, and on those occasions slew both beasts with his bare hands (1 Samuel 1 7:34-3 5)! It was that same Spirit that came upon him when as a stripling he felled the great Goliath of Gath, the champion of the Philistine.
Let me also remind you that the Holy Spirit you’ve received is the same Spirit that came on Samson and caused him to overcome one thousand trained men of war with the jawbone of an ass (Judges 15:1 5). Again, it’s the same Holy Spirit that lives in you today that worked with Moses and caused him to split the Red Sea wide open (Exodus 14:16).
What about Joshua, Moses’ successor? It was the same Holy Spirit that worked in his life, causing him to command the sun and the moon to stand still for a whole day. That same Spirit worked with Elijah, Elisha, Solomon and ultimately the Lord Jesus Himself. The mighty works recorded for us in the scriptures wrought by the Holy Spirit through the prophets of old were not mere stories or fairy- tales. They are there to let you know what the Spirit of God could do in your life as well if you’d yield to him.
The prophets of old didn’t even have the fullness of the Spirit, for they weren’t born again. This should let you know how much your life ought to be even more supernatural as a result of having the Holy Spirit live in you! If you’re born again and have received the Holy Spirit, you have no business living an ordinary life. Make up your mind to live by the Spirit’s power everyday.

Its Time For Cutting- Edge Evangelism

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come (Matthew 24:14).

When the Lord Jesus said “this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world... and then shall the end come,” He wasn’t merely making a prophetic statement; He was also giving us a divine instruction to preach the gospel. We don’t have so much time left before the Master returns and we must work faster and smarter than the apostles did.
Science and technology have made the whole world a global village; now you can reach millions of people from one spot. This is why we as believers must take our evangelistic work to the next level. It’s time for cutting-edge evangelism. Gone are the days when we relied only on door-to-door preaching. The fast-paced world of today requires that we get the gospel to the people wherever they are, on the go.
There is so much negative information passed across to people everyday, so if you want to impact nations and continents with the gospel, you’ve got to take advantage of technology. Television, satellites and the internet are now indispensable tools in getting the gospel across to millions in the world. This is why as an individual you must make up your mind to be big financially. God said “my cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad” (Zechariah 1:17). The reason God empowers His children financially is so they can fund the preaching of the gospel.
Getting the gospel out through every available means requires lots of money; therefore you must commit your resources to sponsoring the gospel big-time. Start giving financially to world-evangelization at the level where you are now, no matter how small. Soon, the Lord will cause all grace to abound towards you so you can do much more.

Don’t Envy Unbelievers

Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long (Proverbs 23:17).

Ephesians 2:12 paints for us the dismal state of those who aren’t born again: “That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world.” This is the pathetic state of the unregenerate man; he’s without Christ and so he lives in utter hopelessness. Meaning that the unbeliever, in his greatest glory is living a life without purpose; journeying aimlessly in life, with a ticket to no where.
This is the reason you must never envy those who haven’t yet known the Lord, irrespective of the seeming riches, influence or power they exude: “But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways (James 1:10-1 1).
This scripture refers to those who are “rich” without God! Their riches will fade away. So irrespective of how glamorous they may appear to be, don’t admire them. Don’t wish to be like them or wish for their status in life. Let me remind you that no matter how successful, famous or wealthy a person is, if he or she isn’t born again, the bible says he’s alienated from the life of God.
No wonder David said “I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found” (Psalm 3 7:35-36). That’s the life of the man who isn’t born again—he’s here today and gone tomorrow. But for the one who is born again, the Bible says “Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace” (Psalm 37:37). I like that! It means there’s a guaranteed end-result of success, victory, peace, health, joy and prosperity for the child of God.

Preach The “Good News”!

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! (Romans 10:15).

Someone rightly said that it’s better to light a candle than to curse darkness. Those who haven’t known Jesus are in darkness and that’s why He said, “I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not walk in darkness” (John 12:46). So as Christians we shouldn’t waste time condemning the darkness—just turn on the light and darkness will go! That’s why the Lord Jesus told us to preach the ‘gospel’ which is ‘the good news’ of what His death, burial and resurrection accomplished for humanity.
It’s not enough that you’re preaching a message about Jesus Christ; it’s got to be “good news,” for if it’s not “good news” then it’s not gospel. Some folks don’t like it when they hear us preach the good news to sinners. “Why not preach against sin, instead of ‘watering down’ the gospel” they query. It’s obvious that such folks don’t understand the gospel of Christ. Jesus didn’t send us to preach sin to the sinners but the good news.
You don’t have to terrify the one you’re preaching to or condemn him about his sin; he’s a sinner and that’s the only life he knows, which is why he needs a new life. The gospel to the sinner is that eternal life is available to him from God now, and that he doesn’t have to continue to wallow in sin and guilt anymore. Your message should gladden his heart and show him that God loves him in spite of all the wrongs in his life, and sent Jesus to bear the penalty of his sins.
This is the message that turns sinners into saints and melts even the hardest and most callous heart; it’s the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16). Remember, it’s the goodness of God that leads men to repentance (Romans 2:4), not the terror or judgment of God. So the next time you open your mouth to preach, make sure you preach the good news.

Equal Partakers

Then said David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the LORE) hath given us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the company that came against us into our hand. For who will hearken unto you in this matter? but as his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part alike (1 Samuel 30:23-24).

Just like some of David’s men were debating whether or not to share the spoil they got from battle with the soldiers who didn’t go with them to the battle, some in the Church have the same misconception today. They reasoned thus: “It’s not fair that those who went to war and did all the fighting, and those who stayed behind should share the spoils equally!” But David, being a man of the Spirit said both the soldiers who went to war and those who stayed behind should share the spoil equally.
The ones who stayed behind can be likened to the Christians praying and interceding for souls to be won. They can also be likened to those who give financially to the spread of the gospel around the world, as well as those who prepare the venue for church services, programmes and other special meetings—those doing all the work, running around behind the scenes. Thus when the victory is won, they rejoice too because it’s as much their victory as it’s the victory of the preachers, missionaries, pastors, ministers, who went to crusade field—”the battlefront” as it were.
Those who stayed behind with the stuff, to keep watch actually gave their part to the success of the campaign by ensuring those who went to the ‘battle’ didn’t pack unnecessary weights that would have hindered their progress. That is why they had to partake equally of the spoil.
You may not be the preacher on the pulpit or the one writing the bestselling books and holding the large evangelical crusades, but remain faithful! Keep doing what God tells you to do where you are right now, and He’ll reward your faithfulness by making you an equal partaker of the spoils. Keep supporting those in the front lines every way you can—with your prayers, finances, time and resources and the Lord will remember you for good.

Put Your Trust In The Lord, Not In Man!

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God (Psalm 20:7).

For certain folks, it’s easy to express some form of trust in the Lord when everything seems cool and calm around them, but when they’re faced with the crises of life they vacillate. Their initial response to a challenging situation is a manifestation of fear. As a child of God, you must train yourself to have an attitude of absolute trust in the Lord, for He’s the only reliable Helper you can turn to. He never fails.
The story of King Asa teaches us how it pays to trust in the Lord always. When an army of over a million soldiers came out against him (2 Chronicles 14:9), Asa cried unto the Lord and said, “LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, 0 LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude...” (2 Chronicles 14:11). The Lord heard Asa and helped him defeat his enemies.
As time went on, King Asa had reason to engage in another battle, but sadly, he adopted a different tactic this time. Rather than call on the Lord as he did earlier, he sent money to the King of Syria to come help him (2 Chronicles 16:1-4)! That’s just like some folks today. They ordinarily would have prayed to the Lord to ask His help in solving the difficult situation they are faced with, but believing they’ve got the money, they’ll rather choose to buy their way through.
What King Asa didn’t know was that the Lord had planned for him to subjugate the very King he went to for help (2 Chronicles 16:7-9). He lost out on God’s best for him and eventually died in that condition.
Never allow anything or anyone take your attention away from the Lord. Trust in Him with your total being and let Him always have the pre-eminence in your life. Even if you have the financial means or influence to deal with a situation, ask the Lord what steps to take. That’s the way of guaranteed success and progress in life.

Faith is a Law

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works?
Nay: but by the law of faith (Romans 3:27).

In the same way that gravity is a law in the physical world, faith is a law in the realm of the spirit. A law is constant, and works for anyone and everyone, anywhere, under the right circumstances. For example, gravity, as a law functions all the time. That's the reason you don't suddenly find yourself floating while walking along the road. The law of gravity is what keeps you on the ground. In the same way, the law of faith can be counted on to work at all times.
There’re no ‘trial and error’ with laws: laws don’t forgive, they either work for you or work against you. The law of faith will work for you or work against you, depending on how you relate to it. Don't 'try” to use your Faith, for faith always works: if it is faith then it has worked already.
The Bible defines faith as the “evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). If something is evidence, it means its proof of something that's already in existence. So, if for example, someone who's been sick with cancer declares in faith “I'm healed in the Name of Jesus; the cancerous growth in my body is dead!” Now, if what that fellow has is really faith, it means the growth is actually already dead though he may still feel it or see it with his physical eyes.
When you understand that faith is a law, first, it will help you know if what you thought was faith was really faith. Secondly, it will give you the confidence to know that faith always works! That means you can stake your life on it-since it’s a law that works for everyone that applies it rightly.
