That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ (Ephesians 4:14-15).

This is something many in the Church need to realize. You’re not just in Church to grow spiritually and then have a nice life; spiritual growth is for responsibility. You grow so you can function and serve in the house of God; so you can be a blessing to others. True spiritual men and women are those who understand and are conscious of the responsibility of service.
Refuse to be amongst those who delight in being served, rather than being the ones serving. Jesus made clear the preeminence the one who serves has over the one being served: “But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all” (Mark 10:43-44).
Refuse to be idle in the house of God; be involved in service! Be known for your effectiveness in reaching out to others, as you win them to Christ; invite them to Church meetings and other programs in your local Church.
Remember, the ministry of reconciliation has been committed into your hands; therefore it’s your responsibility to speak for Jesus and manifest the Kingdom of God where you are. That’s the purpose for Christian growth. You’re being built up to function: “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ... (Ephesians 4:11-12). Your growth is for service and responsibility in the house of God, never forget that.

Prayer
I acknowledge that the glorious Gospel of the blessed God has been committed unto my trust, and as a good steward, I faithfully dedicate myself to serving the Gospel of Christ’s salvation to everyone in my world. I thank you heavenly Father, for counting me faithful and making me an effective minister of the Gospel, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
